Over 100 motorcycle enthusiasts on 90-year-old bikes will stop in Nacogdoches on their way a 4,300-mile endurance run from Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan to South Padre Island, Texas. They’ve chosen Nacogdoches, TX as stop #13 on their route.

All are welcome to come downtown to meet the motorcyclists, their crew and view the incredible bikes they’ll be riding in on. Motorcycles will be parked around the Downtown square. Participants will enjoy dinner, sight-seeing, and shopping from 3pm - 6:30pm. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy local happenings like Trivia at Fredonia Brewery and live jazz music at The Cottage Wine Bar. Of course, the fun doesn’t stop there, stay the whole weekend to get the full Nacogdoches experience!

Stephen F. Austin State University’s SFA Gardens will host its annual Fabulous Fall Festival Plant Sale from 9am to 2pm Saturday, Oct. 9 and Sunday, Oct. 10, at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St., in historic Nacogdoches.

The sale will feature a remarkable array of hard-to-find, “Texas-tough” plants, including natives, edibles, heirlooms, perennials, shrubs and trees, with an emphasis on native, pollinator-friendly selections, as well as exclusive SFA introductions. The featured plants are extensively trialed before being offered to the public and are produced by staff members and volunteers of the SFA Gardens.

This popular event raises money for operations of all the gardens under the SFA Gardens umbrella: SFA Mast Arboretum, PNPC, Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden, Gayla Mize Garden, Jimmy Hinds Park and the alternative fruits research program.

The money received for the projects are returned to the owners of the animals and projects. They invest in projects for the next year, as well as set aside money for savings and college.
